Paddleboarding Brighton Spring Update

In an effort to keep people up to date with what’s going on with paddleboarding around Brighton I’m going to be posting a quarterly update with any news. Whilst we’re still 4 days away from Spring 2021 it felt like it was well on its way today with a bit more warmth in the air.

Lockdown lifting

Based on the government announcement it looks like we’ll be able to paddle in groups of up to six people from different households from the 29th March. I know many people are looking forward to getting back on the water with a group of mates.

Sea Lanes Gets A 50 Metre Pool

Although not specifically paddleboarding related, since it’s a great launch and finish spot for a paddle in Brighton it’s great to hear that Sea Lanes has been granted permission for a 50 metre pool. Congratulations to all involved.

Parking In Shoreham

A few people I’ve spoken with have been caught out by the changes to parking at Shoreham. Please keep an eye out when you park for paddleboarding on Basin Road Shoreham, GXS are running the parking for Shoreham Port Authority and are now charging at previously free parking areas around Hot Pipe ( there is a new parking area here ) and the other pipe towards Brighton before that.

Paddleboarding Holidays

Finally I’ve launched another site paddleboardingholidays.com. I’m hoping this will become a great resource for anyone looking to book a paddleboard holiday or weekend in the UK or Europe. Please let me know your thoughts.

Happy paddling!

Nick
